Who are Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton and Monica De La Cruz Really Fighting For?
Spoiler Alert: It’s Not Our Familias.

The Truth: Ken Paxton and Monica De La Cruz are not standing up for us. De La Cruz is a total rubber stamp for Trump and his extreme agenda in the House, and Paxton would be more of the same in the Senate.

  • Sky-High Prices? Trump and his allies ignore our familias struggling with the cost of groceries, healthcare, housing and gas.
  • Out-of-Control ICE? Trump and his allies oppose basic oversight and accountability.
  • Our Community? Left behind and facing constant harassment.

Y nuestra comunidad merece mucho mejor.

ENDORSEMENT ALERT

Mi Familia Vota has officially endorsed a slate of pro-worker leaders: Gina Hinojosa for Governor, James Talarico for U.S. Senate, and Bobby Pulido for U.S. Congress (TX-15).

Politicians like Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton, and Monica De La Cruz continue to put corporate donors and party bosses ahead of our communities. Gina Hinojosa, James Talarico, and Bobby Pulido will fight to lower costs, protect our healthcare, stand up to corporate monopolies, and defend the dignity of our communities.

See For Yourself

Why Are Prices Sky-High for Working Families?
Are you wondering why everyday life keeps getting more expensive?

From el mandado and la carne asada to healthcare and gas prices, our households are getting hit hard. The reason? MAGA politicians in Congress go along with extreme corporate agendas and act as a rubber stamp for Donald Trump:

      • Taxes: Ken Paxton proudly admits he wants to go to the U.S. Senate to be a loyal supporter of Trump and his extreme agenda, which has raised costs for the working class while giving tax breaks to billionaires. Monica De La Cruz voted for the disastrous One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which is devastating healthcare access.
      • Our Economy: Selling out working people and local farmers to boost corporate profits. Americans are being hit with the sharpest increase in grocery prices in 50 years. Now, grocery prices are expected to rise another 2.7% across the country this year. Our families are having to buy less at grocery stores than they did just a year ago.
      • You have Abbott and Texas MAGA Republicans for the rapid expansion of data centers across the state. Not only are they taking up precious resources, but Abbott and MAGA Republicans have given lucrative tax subsidies to big tech companies while you’re left with higher electricity costs. We need politicians who put Texas families first, not billion-dollar corporations.

Ken Paxton is running for Senate in Texas to bring us more of the same; Monica De La Cruz has already shown how damaging that is. No les interesa el bienestar de nuestro estado. We deserve leaders who actually fight for our pocketbooks.

More than 10 million Americans are losing health care coverage because of Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, which slashed the social safety net to pay for ICE detention and to give tax breaks to billionaires. Ken Paxton supports the Trump agenda, including the One Big Beautiful bill that hit rural hospitals particularly hard, while Monica De La Cruz voted for slashing healthcare in that bill.

De La Cruz voted for it; Paxton will keep backing it, no matter how many people are hurt.

  • Latinos in Texas cannot afford to lose more access to health care.
    • In the Rio Grande Valley, a CMS-data study found diabetes prevalence among the population studied was 43.95%, compared with 26.73% nationally. In Willacy County, it reached nearly 48%. Yet this is exactly the kind of medically underserved community that is especially vulnerable when Medicaid and other health programs are cut.
  • We already have a health care access crisis. We shouldn't make it worse.
    • In 2023, 27% to 31% of Rio Grande Valley residents were uninsured, according to data reported by the Texas Tribune. The region also struggles with high rates of poverty, obesity, hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease. Cutting the programs that help people see a doctor doesn't make those illnesses disappear — it means more people go without treatment until they end up in an emergency room.
  • Recent cuts for healthcare have a disproportionate impact on Latino communities.
    • For example, the Rio Grande Valley is over 90% Hispanic, and it is already medically underserved.
    • When policymakers weaken Medicaid or other health safety-net programs, they're not cutting numbers on a spreadsheet — they're making it harder for working Latino families in South Texas to manage diabetes, afford medication, see a doctor and stay healthy.

South Texas needs more investment, not less. Texas health groups warn that a proposed federal Medicaid rule could reduce Texas's funding by an estimated $15.9 billion over 10 years. For a region already carrying some of the nation's heaviest burdens of chronic disease and inadequate insurance coverage, taking billions more out of the health care system moves us in exactly the wrong direction.

  • Homeownership in Texas is becoming further out of reach as home prices, mortgage rates, property taxes, and insurance premiums continue to rise. The cost of homeowners insurance and private hazard coverage has become another major financial burden, particularly in communities vulnerable to natural disasters. This is a crisis: 2 out of 3 Texans can’t afford even a typical home after insurance costs
  • Ken Paxton will be one more vote for Donald Trump’s anti-Latino, anti-immigrant, detention and deportation push that is targeting our communities indiscriminately and separating families. On his website, he emphasizes that he is running to help President Trump deport “illegal aliens.”
  • Paxton has been an aggressive opponent of immigrant communities, including pressuring state and local law enforcement to collaborate with ICE.
  • Monica De La Cruz voted earlier this year to reward ICE with $70 billion more in funding with zero guardrails, even after the deaths of three U.S. citizens at the hands of ICE, and with record levels of deaths in ICE detention.

Our neighborhoods are being disrupted. They’re harassing our abuelas, separating families, and spreading fear across our communities. Instead of demanding oversight, MAGA politicians are throwing ICE even more money with zero rules.
  • Ken Paxton and Monica De La Cruz will continue to fund and support detention facilities like the shameful Dilley detention site that has been used to hold families and children in prolonged, terrible, and even dangerous conditions. Thousands of children, over six thousand, have been held “like criminals” at Dilley, according to news reports.

Nuestra comunidad merece protección, respeto y dignidad. Don't let Ken Paxton and Monica De La Cruz continue to turn their backs on our families.

Stop Big Energy from Driving Up Your Bills

It’s not just groceries—now our home energy costs are skyrocketing.

Summer AC? Expect a higher bill.
Winter Heat? Prepare to pay even more.

Ken Paxton isn't running for Senate to lower your utility bills—he’s running to protect the profits of massive energy corporations that are keeping those prices high.

Ken Paxton and Monica De La Cruz have already shown how disastrous they are. A ellos no les interesa el bienestar de nuestro estado. We don't have to accept politicians who put party bosses and corporate money ahead of our families. We deserve leaders who actually fight for us.

Nuestra comunidad merece mejor.

Leaders Who Fight Por Lo Nuestro

  • Gina Hinojosa for Governor: A proven labor and civil rights attorney who has fought for communities in the state legislature and school board. Hinojosa will stop corporate handouts that drain local resources and spike residential utility costs, investing directly in public schools, healthcare, and working-class neighborhoods.
  • James Talarico for U.S. Senate: Committed to taking on corporate monopolies, ending tax breaks for billionaires, and delivering economic relief so families don't have to choose between buying groceries and paying for healthcare. Unlike Ken Paxton, Talarico will oppose tariffs and work to revoke healthcare cuts made in the "One Big Beautiful Bill."
  • Bobby Pulido for U.S. Congress (TX-15): A son of South Texas running to lower everyday costs, protect local farmers, and build an economy that serves working families rather than party bosses. Unlike Monica De La Cruz, Pulido will oppose tariffs and fight to restore health coverage cuts.
