WASHINGTON, DC – Hector Sanchez Barba, President and CEO of Mi Familia Vota, issued a statement in response to the deadly shooting of yet another U.S. citizen by federal agents today in Minneapolis:

“Mi Familia Vota strongly condemns this second horrifying killing of a Minneapolis resident by federal agents. These acts of violence directed towards our communities by the Trump administration’s anti-immigrant agenda must stop now. If not for the brave residents recording these incidents on their phones, the false narratives provided by DHS would go uncontested.

“Our hearts go out to the victim, Alex Pretti, and his family today. Mi Familia Vota continues demanding accountability and transparency from ICE and DHS. We urge the public to stay vigilant and safely record these incidents so that our own government cannot lie to us with impunity, and we call on elected officials in Congress to exercise their oversight responsibilities and investigate the facts around all of these cases.”
