Stefanie De Leon Tzic is the Digital Marketing Manager at Mi Familia Vota. She was born in Guatemala and raised in Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master’s in Specialized Journalism, where she focused on human rights issues and radio broadcasting. Prior to that, she was a producer at NPR-member station, Southern California Public Radio in Pasadena. It was there that Stefanie discovered her passion for storytelling and all-things-digital.
In 2018, she oversaw MFV’s digital campaigns, which resulted in a landmark total of 500,000 voter registrations in the six states where we work. In that year alone, MFV:
- registered 82,000 voters,
- canvassed 400,000 households
- conducted 65,000 live phone calls to voters
- And invested more than $300,000 in Spanish and English broadcasts as well as digital voter mobilization campaigns with Maria Elena Salinas and Diane Guerrero, which made a difference in many key races
As a result, MFV was nominated for four prestigious Reed Awards presented by Campaigns & Elections. We took home the award for Best Nonprofit Grassroots Organization of the Year. Our “USA TU Poder” campaign was awarded a Pollie Award.
In her spare time, she likes to collect and produce audio stories about diverse communities in LA.
