ota. She holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix, and a Master of Science in Accounting from Keller School of Management of DeVry University. During her career, she has supervised corporate tax preparations along with personal tax services covering state and federal tax returns while handling all subsequent IRS correspondence. Improved financial procedures and processes by developing intuitive standard operating procedures, general administration procedures and financial guidelines that ensure GAAP compliance.
Karina was born and raised in Mexico, she begins her professional career in Phoenix working as an accountant for a Hispanic supermarket. She has always proven expertise and ongoing professional development to meeting and exceeding all objectives put before her. She served as the Operations & Financial Director of Mi Familia Vota, from 2011 to mid 2016, directed all accounting functions from payroll and funding reporting to human resource management and precise program budget generation.
She was the Accounting Manager of Area Agency on Aging, Region One. Where she supported the fiscal management of a 27 million operating budget with a large variety of programs and services that enhanced the lives of adults 60 and older, adults with HIV/AIDS, adults with disabilities and long-term care needs and family caregivers in Maricopa County, Arizona.
Karina also served as Director of Finance of Ballet Arizona. A nonprofit arts organization that includes the only professional ballet company in the valley, the School or Ballet Arizona and community outreach programs that happen through the year.
Throughout her career, Karina has achieved extensive understanding of rules and regulations for 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations, and protection of tax-exempt status.
