Mi Familia Vota’s Reaction to Vice Presidential Debate

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The following is a statement by Ben Monterroso, executive director of Mi Familia Vota, on tonight’s vice presidential debate:

“Insults and scapegoating immigrants took center stage tonight during the vice presidential debate. Donald Trump’s platform based on attacks, hateful rhetoric and promises of building a ludicrous wall while banning entry of Muslims to our country have now been echoed for all to see by Governor Pence.

“As we approach Election Day, the Latino community and all Americans now have a clear choice of what kind country we want to live in: one that thrives by marginalizing communities and dividing our country, or one that embraces the contributions of immigrants that make our country one of promise and hope.
