Watch our launch video here.
Washington D.C. Today, Mi Familia Vota (MFV) launched a national accountability campaign, #Prioridades with the goal of ensuring that during his first hundred days President-elect Biden keeps the promises he made to Mi Familia Vota and the Latino community during our #Prioridades2020 town hall earlier this year. As the largest field operation in the Latino Community we will leverage our power to hold the President-elect accountable. Mi Familia Vota’s goal is to build long term Latino political power, #Prioridades2020 was the first phase of our campaign where we heard the plans of Presidential candidates, #Prioridades is designed to hold the President-elect accountable to his promises. We look forward to working with the new administration on the important policy priorities of the Latino community and the promises the President-elect made to us on appointments, immigration, Puerto Rico, the economy, and healthcare in the first hundred days and beyond.
Biden’s Promises to Mi Familia Vota & Latino Community:
On Appointments: He promised that he would have the most diverse administration and committed to having a record number of Latinos in his cabinet and administration. We expect five Latinos in the cabinet. Video on Biden’s Representation Promise
On Immigration Reform: President-elect Biden promised that he would send Congress immigration reform legislation in the first 100 days. Video on Biden’s CIR Promise

On Puerto Rico: He promised a comprehensive plan to help Puerto Rico. He also promised to surge all the help that was needed for the island as if it happened anywhere else in the United States. Video on Biden’s Puerto Rico Promise
We are launching this campaign with a petition demanding that President-elect Biden follow through on his promises and give Latinos greater representation in his administration. The campaign will feature strong advocacy with a focus on mobilizations, petitions, events and digital content.
Héctor Sánchez Barba, CEO and Executive Director of Mi Familia Vota said:
“The Latino community turned out this cycle in record numbers and we played a central role in voting Trump out of office. Without the Latino belt, of Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Georgia we would still be living under the authoritarian rule of Donald Trump. We’ve earned our seat at the table and we will mobilize to make sure that our priorities become a reality. No more empty promises. As a united community, we will remind President-elect Biden that Latinos helped deliver his victory. The fight is not over, we must have Latinos at the highest seats of power in the administration to help roll back the devastating policies of the Trump administration and we must prioritize critical issues, like immigration reform and Puerto Rico, and advance policies that unlock the potential of our community for the better of our country.”
