MFV Stands with Women and for Dignity and Respect

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The following is a statement from Anna Castro, communications director; Nancy Herrera, Arizona state coordinator; Giselle Gasca, Fresno coordinator; Carla Castedo, Colorado state director; Soraya Marquez, Florida state coordinator; Jocelyn Sida, Nevada state director; and Selene Gomez, San Antonio coordinator, on behalf of Mi Familia Vota:

“Mi Familia Vota advocates for families. We fight for dignity and respect for the Latino and immigrant community. The lewd comments made public today by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump have cut straight to the heart of what we stand for.

Donald Trump has repeatedly insulted Mexicans, Latino, Muslim, and Black Americans, immigrants, refugees, people with disabilities, and women throughout his candidacy. His views and behavior towards women undeniably demonstrate that he is unfit to represent this country.

Women fought for the right to vote and we will show our power on Election Day by electing a candidate who recognizes our humanity. We call on all elected officials, Democrats and Republicans, to join us in denouncing Trump’s actions once and for all.”
