WASHINGTON, D.C. — The following is a statement from Ben Monterroso, executive director of Mi Familia Vota, on Andrew Puzder withdrawing his nomination to lead the Department of Labor:

“We are pleased that Andrew Puzder decided to withdraw his nomination as Secretary of Labor. Puzder had a terrible track record on workers’ rights as a business person and employer and his tenure as Secretary of Labor would have been disastrous for American workers. This action is the direct result of the great work of a broad coalition of organizations and individuals that fought to show the true facts about Puzder’s qualifications and philosophy.”

“We hope that President Trump learns from this lesson and selects an individual that would protect and enhance workers’ rights and not the profits and greed of corporations. We will be watching closely and will be ready to continue to fight for the well-being of American workers and their families.”
