Census Memo On Undocumented Migrants Shows Trump Is Getting Desperate
Another Unconstitutional Misfire From The President
Washington D.C. – President Donald Trump announced that he plans to sign a memorandum on Tuesday that aims to prevent migrants who are in the United States without documentation from being counted when U.S. congressional voting districts are redrawn in the next round of redistricting.
Mi Familia Vota Executive Director and CEO Hector Sanchez released the following statement in response to the president’s memorandum:
“Donald Trump is getting desperate. His bungled response to the Coronavirus and the economic damage his response has created are hurting all Americans. His latest attempt to distract from these failures reeks of flop sweat. All Americans must be counted in the Census. This is another attempt to exclude our undocumented family members, many of whom are bravely serving as frontline workers during this pandemic. This sad attempt to distract will not hold up in court. We must make sure our community is counted in the Census this year. For all of these reasons, we must say #BastaTrump”
