MFV to Congress: Support the Dream and Promise Act

H.R. 6, The Dream and Promise Act of 2019, was introduced by Congresswomen Lucille Roybal-Allard, Nydia Velázquez, and Yvette Clarke in an effort to provide Dreamers, TPS, and DED holders with a pathway to citizenship.

Mi Familia Vota  issued the following statement:

Immigrant advocates and their supporters have provided Congress with a new opportunity to uphold our American values and provide protection from deportation and a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, TPS, and DED holders; Congress must work together to ensure that this legislation is passed.

With protection from deportation, our undocumented youth and vulnerable immigrant groups have the chance to stay with their families and continue to work for their dreams, which builds and strengthens our nation. Dreamers have opened our eyes to the need for immigration reform, garnering overwhelming support from the American public because supporting immigrants is rooted in our values and it is the right thing to do.

We will continue to educate our community on the legislation being introduced and to advocate for the relief our community needs to stay together. We call on Congress to pass the Dream and Promise Act of 2019.
